The digital guide will be a resource to continue engaging and broadening reflective dialogue between youth, families, and community members inspired by Mwindo performances. Caregivers, youth and community members will access theater, music and tech theater exercises through the guide to support these valuable conversations at home, in the community, and in other learning environments.

Objective: To decide what Social justice issue impacts them deeply and create a piece of art to communicate their view.

Youth as Changemakers

Objective: To explore what it means to be a changemaker in today’s society and create an artistic creation based on an issue they’d like to solve in their communities.

Power & Resistance

Objective: A look through history on how musicians have used art to resist societal Injustice.

Throughout history, artists have used all medians of art to create change during various events of injustice within American society, whether at a local or national level. Today we are going to look at a few examples of this through the lens of music.

Puppetry

Objective: YAs will learn about different types of puppets and how they are used and will reflect on WHY puppets are used and what makes them an effective tool.
